The leopard cat is Taiwan’s only native wild feline and a critically endangered species. Once common in low-altitude mountain areas across Taiwan, their population has now declined to approximately 500 individuals, mainly in Miaoli, Taichung, and Nantou.
Founded on October 8, 2017, by Dr. Mei-Ting Chen and a group of passionate conservationists, the Leopard Cat Association of Taiwan is a nonprofit organization focused on the preservation of leopard cats and their habitats.
Its mission includes:
• Habitat conservation
• Educational outreach
• Human-wildlife coexistence promotion
• Ecological research and advocacy
UTFG is proud to support environmental conservation efforts and invites all participants to learn more about the leopard cat and its protection.
The Association will also host an on-site talk titled “Our Distance from the Leopard Cat” on July 19 (Day 1), 09:30–10:30 at the 3F Ballroom. All are welcome to join!
Be Kind to Animal Association founded in 2020, Be Kind to Animal Association is dedicated to improving the lives of animals in Taiwan and promoting harmony between humans and animals.
With the motto “Education as foundation, Aid as support,” the association combines animal rescue, foster care, adoption, life education, and marine conservation into a broad-based animal welfare program.
Key initiatives include:
• “Stray to Home” and “Food and Vet Support” programs, providing resources such as food, medical care, and shelter improvements for stray animals and caregivers.
• Operating a foster home for cats, with thorough adoption screening and follow-up procedures.
• Conducting coastal cleanups and coral restoration to protect both land and sea ecosystems.
The association also places strong emphasis on life education and social advocacy, promoting the “Five Freedoms” of animal welfare and responsible pet ownership through school talks, community events, and media outreach.
Transparency and compassion are core values. All donations are clearly documented and eligible for tax deduction.
Be Kind to Animal Association invites everyone to become part of a movement that changes animals’ lives for the better.
