Sheraton Hsinchu Hotel and Fongyi Sheraton Hotel (hereinafter referred to as Hsinchu Fongyi Sheraton Grand Hotel) were developed by the Fong-yi Group in Zhubei City with an investment of nearly NT$8 billion. The hotel obtained its business license from Taiwan’s Tourism Administration (MOTC) on March 12th, 2010, and officially opened on April 3rd. It is the first international five-star chain hotel in the Hsinchu region. With its grand and elegant architectural design, the hotel was honored with the highest award in the construction industry, the “National Golden Award for Architecture – First Prize (2009).”

The hotel was designed by an international team, including Wilson Associates, lightning design master Jen-Kung Yao, Harvard graduated architect Chi-Chih Yao, and Chi Cung Hsia. The architecture integrates Hsinchu’s Hakka cultural characteristics, glass craftsmanship, technological industry elements, and artistic aesthetics. It features the first-of-its-king 12-meter LED wall and LED staircase at the reception area. The lobby on its 1st floor boasts Taiwan’s first 12.5-meter tall ceiling (net height of 11.5m) and a column-free grand banquet hall on the 3rd floor with a ceiling height of 9 meters (net height 6.5m). This innovative design has set a new milestone in the hotel industry and has become a landmark in Hsinchu.

Transportation Guide

By Car

From National Freeway No.1 (Sun Yat-sen Freeway) Zhubei/Qionglin Interchange

Exit at the Zhubei/Qionglin interchange, follow the signs towards “Qionglin,” and continue straight along Guangming 6th Road to the intersection of Ziqiang South Road. The hotel will be on your left.

 

By Taiwan High-Speed Rail (THSR)

After arriving at THSR Hsinchu Station, present your same-day ticket to the free THSR Shuttle Bus (Route 5900 – Zhubei Train Station Line) to Sheraton Hsinchu. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the bus stop.

 

By Taiwan Railways (TRA)

  • From TRA Zhubei Station: Take a taxi (10 min) or a free Zhubei City bus.
  • From TRA Hsinchu Station [Alt 1]: Take the Hsinchu Bus (Qionglin Line) and get off at Luchang Station (about 25 min)
  • From TRA Hsinchu Station [Alt 2]: Get off at Liujia Station and take the THSR shuttle bus to Sheraton Hsinchu. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the bus stop.

 

UTFG World Journey | Room Booking Guidelines

In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the Chinese version and the translated versions, the Chinese version shall prevail.

To coordinate with the UTFG World Journey event, room reservations will be arranged under a group booking contract.
Please read the following instructions carefully before booking.​

I. Booking Process & Basic Rules

  • Booking Method: Online booking only. Phone or other methods are not accepted.
  • Eligibility: Only registered participants of “UTFG World Journey” are eligible to book.
  • Limit: Each participant may book only one room. Multiple bookings are not permitted, and the booking holder must be the registered event participant.
  • Note: This is an event group booking contract. It does not follow standardized contracts for individual travelers, no invoices will be issued, and it is not eligible for Marriott Bonvoy points/benefits.
  • Souvenirs: Each guest (based on registered occupancy) will receive a “Commemorative Room Card” and “Hotel Souvenir.” The card can be kept after checkout.
  • Completion of booking implies agreement to all terms. Final rules are subject to official announcements from UTFG.

 

II. Booking Phases

A confirmation email will be sent upon completion. Please verify your email address.

【Phase 1】

  • Starts: March 18 (Wed) at 22:00 [GMT+8].
  • Requirement: 3-night stay only (Check-in: 6/26, Checkout: 6/29). Single-night bookings are not available.
  • Payment: Full payment required upfront via Credit Card, Transfer, or PayPal (PayPal incurs an additional 5% fee).

 

【Phase 2】 (Subject to availability)

  • Only opens if rooms remain after Phase 1.
  • Requirement: Flexible booking date. If Phase 1 is sold out, this will change to a waiting list registration.

 

III. Changes, Cancellations & Refunds

  1. Cancellation
  • Before May 24 (23:59)[GMT+8]: 10% processing fee applied (e.g., NT$1,000 fee for an NT$10,000 booking).
  • From May 25 (00:00)[GMT+8]: No cancellations or refunds. (For refunds processed via bank transfer, an additional NT$15 transfer fee will be deducted).
  1. Modifications
  • On or before May 24: Contact the UTFG Official for changes (occupancy, name, or room type).
  • From May 25 onward: Booking data is transferred to the hotel. Please contact the hotel directly.
  • Participants who booked during Phase 1 may not modify the length or dates of their stay.
 

 

IV. Room Types & Extra Guests

  • Default Occupancy: 
    • Deluxe Room / Sheraton Suite (2 persons)
    • Family Room (4 persons).
    • The room rate includes breakfast and basic amenities for the registered number of guests.

  • Extra Guests: Max 2 additional persons per room. No extra beds provided.
  • Additional Guest Fees (includes breakfast and basic room amenities) :
    • Adult: NT$1,000 per person per night
    • Child (6–12): NT$500 per person per night
    • Children under 6: Free
  • Due to full occupancy, no extra pillows or blankets will be provided.
  • The Presidential Suite is unavailable due to maintenance.

 

V. Check-in / Check-out

  • Time: 
    • Check-in after 16:00
    • Check out before 11:00.
  • Required: Photo ID of the “Registered Booker” and the “Booking Confirmation Number.”
  • Note: If the booker is arriving late, roommates may check in by providing the booker’s name, confirmation number, and their own ID. (Full legal names only; no nicknames).
  • Please pick up all souvenirs and room cards at once. The front desk does not provide storage for souvenirs.
  • Luggage Storage: Guests arriving early may store their luggage. However, due to limited space, the hotel may temporarily suspend this service if the storage capacity is reached.
  • Check-out: Please proceed to the front desk to complete your check-out. The commemorative room card is yours to keep as a souvenir and does not need to be returned to the hotel.

 

VI. Facilities & Breakfast

  • Breakfast: Feast – Buffet and All Day Dining (East Bldg, 2F), 06:00 – 10:00. Flow control may apply during peak hours.
  • Facilities: Free Parking (Max height 2M, first-come-first-served), Gym, Pool, Sauna.
  • Minibar: One-time complimentary minibar per room.

 

VII. Accommodation Rules and Prohibitions

  • Single-use Amenities: Single-use amenities (such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, shower caps, etc.) are not provided in the guest rooms.
  • Smoking and Pets: Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the premises. Pets are not allowed (except for guide dogs). Violators will be charged a cleaning fee of NT$10,000 for each offense.
  • Damages and Loss: Guests are liable for the cost of any damage to or loss of room facilities, equipment, or bedding.
  • Personal Expenses: Room charging services are not available for additional personal expenses; all such costs must be settled on-site at the time of purchase.
  • Commemorative Room Cards: Please keep your commemorative room card safe, as it cannot be reissued if lost. In the event of loss, the hotel will only provide a standard hotel key card, which must be returned upon check-out.
  • Key Card Replacement: A replacement fee of NT$200 per card will be charged for lost standard hotel key cards. To ensure guest privacy and security, if a companion requires a replacement card, the hotel will verify the personal information of the “Registered Guest” before reissuing the card.
  • Occupancy Limits: Please check in according to the number of registered guests. If over-occupancy is discovered, the hotel will ask unregistered individuals to leave. Failure to comply may result in the cancellation of the stay or a request to check out immediately.
  • Public Areas: Overnight stays in the hotel’s public areas are strictly prohibited.
  • Lobby Regulations: To protect the rights and safety of our guests, non-guests who remain in the lobby for extended periods late at night may be asked to leave in accordance with hotel management policies.

 

VIII. Security Deposit (Credit Card Pre-authorization)

  • Deposit Requirement: In accordance with hotel policy, a credit card pre-authorization is required upon check-in. The amount is NT$3,000 per room per night. Please note that this is a pre-authorization hold and not an actual charge.
  • Release of Funds: The pre-authorization will be released upon check-out, provided there are no additional charges or damages to the room.
  • Cash Option: Deposits may also be paid in cash and will be fully refunded at check-out if no additional costs are incurred.

 

IX. Extension of Stay Notice

  • Early Check-in or Extension: If you require an extension of your stay (e.g., an early check-in before June 25 or a stay past June 29), please contact the UTFG Organizing Team once your booking is confirmed.

UTFG World Journey | Room Reservation FAQ

Q :Must I participate in the event to book a room? 

A :Yes. This special room package is available exclusively to participants who have completed event registration.

Q :Can I book for only one night during Phase 1?

A :No. Phase 1 only offers a “fixed three-night stay” package.

Q :Can I transfer my reservation to someone else?

A :Yes. Please contact the UTFG Official to update the registration information on or before May 24. From May 25 onward, please contact the hotel directly for such requests.

Q :Are toothbrushes provided in the rooms?

A :No. In compliance with plastic reduction policies, the hotel does not provide single-use amenities (such as toothbrushes and toothpaste).

Q :Is luggage storage guaranteed?

A :Luggage storage space is limited. If the storage capacity is reached, the hotel may temporarily suspend this service. We recommend making early arrangements.

Q :Is a security deposit required upon check-in?

A :Yes. The hotel requires a credit card pre-authorization of NT$3,000 per room per night as a security deposit. Cash payments are also accepted.

Q :Can I request extra blankets and pillows?

A :As the hotel will be at full occupancy during the event period, we are unable to provide additional bedding. We appreciate your understanding.

Q :When will I receive my booking confirmation code?

A :After the UTFG official data transfer on May 25, the hotel will send a notification via email before your check-in date.

Q :What are the bed sizes for the hotel rooms?

A :Bed sizes are as follows (Width × Length):

  • King Bed: 198 × 203 cm
  • Two Double Beds: 137 × 203 cm (each)
  • Family Room (Two Queen Beds): 150 × 203 cm (each)

Q :Can I get an invoice or receipt for the hotel booking?

A :Since this hotel booking is part of a group reservation arranged through a partnership between UTFG and the hotel, the hotel will issue the invoice to the organizer. Therefore, individual invoices cannot be issued for each booking.
If participants require proof of accommodation or a payment receipt, please contact the UTFG team via email after completing your booking. We will assist in providing the relevant documents after check-out.
